The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) conducts recruitment drives for various Technical and Non-Technical posts across state government departments, boards, and public sector undertakings (like KPTCL, FDA/SDA, KEA internal cadres, and state corporations).

Key Responsibilities & Cadres

• Technical Posts:Involve specialized engineering, IT, or field roles (e.g., Assistant Engineer, Junior Engineer, Junior Programmer, IT Assistants) responsible for infrastructure development, system maintenance, software operations, or civil/electrical supervision.
• Non-Technical Posts:Involve administrative, managerial, and clerical roles (e.g., First Division Assistant – FDA, Second Division Assistant – SDA, Assistant Manager, Stenographers, Typists) responsible for office administration, file processing, data management, and public coordination.

Recruitment Overview

• Educational Qualification:
  • Non-Technical Posts:PUC (10+2) or Any Bachelor’s Degree (B.A., B.Com, B.Sc., BBA) from a recognized university.
  • Technical Posts: Diploma or B.E. / B.Tech in the relevant branch (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, IT).
• Age Limit:Generally 18 to 35 years for General Merit candidates, with age relaxations up to 38 years for OBC (2A/2B/3A/3B) and 40 years for SC/ST/Cat-I candidates.
• Selection Process:
  1. Competitive Written Exam (CBT / OMR): Subject-specific paper (Technical) or General Knowledge/Kannada/Computer Knowledge papers (Non-Technical).
  2. Skill / Typing Test: Mandatory for specific technical or clerical cadres (e.g., Typists, Stenographers).
  3. Document Verification & Merit Ranking: Direct selection based strictly on competitive exam scores.
• Pay Scale: Highly varied depending on the post level:
  • PUC/SDA Level: Approx. ₹21,400 – ₹42,000
  • Degree/FDA/Diploma Level: Approx. ₹27,000 – ₹60,000
  • Engineer/Managerial Level: Approx. ₹43,100 – ₹83,700+ per month (plus standard DA, HRA, and state allowances).
